[ARCHIVED] National Grid Rate Increse

National Grid submitted a filing to the New York State Public Service Commission that would establish new electric rates that would take effect on April 1, 2018.  The rate filing seeks to accomplish the following:

· Continue National Grid’s capital investment in our infrastructure by committing $2 billion to rebuild our electric and distribution system.

· Modernize our information systems and infrastructure so we can implement Governor Cuomo’s and the Public Service Commission’s vision of the future of the electric utility industry that includes greater penetration of renewable energy resources.

· Increases our annual budget to assist customers that face challenges in paying their electric bill from $10.9 million to $56 million.

· Continues our commitment to helping the communities we serve by budgeting $11 million annually to support economic development in Upstate New York.
