Curt was elected to serve on the Town Council for term beginning January 1, 2018. He lives in the Wheatfield Lakes subdivision with his wife Rebecca and three young children - Olivia, Ella, and Matthew. Curt often insists that “Wheatfield is the best community in Western New York” and believes that his passion and commitment to long-term success will serve Wheatfield families well.
Councilman Doktor possesses a Bachelor’s degree in Business from Empire State College and a Masters in Library Science from the University of Buffalo. He has over 15 years of professional experience working for major corporations which include Fisher-Price (Mattel) and M&T Bank where he has worked in dynamic digital, marketing, and sales roles. Currently, he is a Product Manager at M&T for services within the Online and Mobile Banking portfolio for retail and small business segments serving over 1 million customers.
Doktor first became involved serving as a volunteer on several Focus Groups, part of the Wheatfield’s Comprehensive Plan Task Force. The objective of the group of dedicated volunteers is to assist with implementation of the Town’s long-term vision, known as the Comprehensive Plan. Curt has been a member of the Town Center Focus Group, Business Development Focus Group, and currently serves on the Development Build-Out Focus Group. The mission is to gain a deeper understanding on development dynamics in Wheatfield with a goal of achieving long-term sustainability and control of taxes.
As Councilman, Curt will work diligently to control expenses, encourage environmentally friendly businesses, and promote community involvement including volunteerism. He acts as Chairman to the Comprehensive Plan Task Force. For his latest challenge, Doktor will lead an evaluation into LED streetlights with a goal to increase efficiency and decrease cost.
